AI in Education: Classroom Reform Needed

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming various sectors, and education is no exception. According to leading academic expert Damian Murchan from Trinity College Dublin (TCD), it is imperative that AI tools are incorporated into the newly redeveloped Leaving Cert curriculum. Starting in September, the reforms to the Leaving Cert will allow students to conduct research and project work that can comprise up to 40% of their final marks. However, as these changes unfold, educators and policymakers must consider the role of AI within this structure.
