Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), has recently expanded its partnership with HUMAIN during the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum. This collaboration aims to deploy up to 150,000 AI accelerators, featuring the advanced NVIDIA GB300 AI infrastructure and AWS’s Trainium chips, in an innovative data center dubbed the “AI Zone” located in Riyadh.
The AI Zone marks the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, dedicated to supporting cutting-edge AI training and inference workloads. This state-of-the-art infrastructure is designed to cater to a diverse range of compute-intensive AI tasks, ultimately facilitating a smoother transition from concept to production for clients. By integrating NVIDIA’s advanced infrastructure with AWS services, customers will experience enhanced AI capabilities while ensuring secure and reliable operations.
Tanuja Randery, Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East & Africa at AWS, emphasized the importance of this project, stating that it represents a pivotal moment in their partnership with HUMAIN. With AWS now standing as HUMAIN’s preferred AI partner globally, the collaboration is set to empower organizations in unlocking the potentials of generative AI, thereby advancing digital transformation efforts.
The strategic importance of this collaboration is further highlighted by the commitment to invest over $5 billion in AI infrastructure, services, and training initiatives in Saudi Arabia, as previously agreed upon in May 2025. This investment aims not only to fuel local innovations but also to meet the growing international demand for AI solutions.
In addition to the physical infrastructure, AWS and HUMAIN plan to enhance AI adoption across various sectors by developing dedicated Arabic Large Language Models, including “ALLAM,” HUMAIN’s proprietary language model tailored for the Arab community. The collaboration also focuses on building a robust workforce through education initiatives, including plans to train 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud computing and generative AI, alongside a commitment to support female upskilling through a targeted initiative.
HUMAIN’s CEO, Tareq Amin, expressed optimism about the partnership’s trajectory, noting that the AI Zone serves both national interests and the evolving needs of the global market for AI compute resources. Recognizing the scale and ambition of this venture, Amin stated that the unique commercial model and shared vision for market expansion positions them to significantly impact how AI solutions are developed and scaled worldwide.
As the landscape of AI continues to evolve, the AWS and HUMAIN partnership sets a vital precedent for collaborative efforts aimed at driving innovation and addressing the burgeoning global demand for artificial intelligence solutions.
