VetRec, an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant tailored for veterinarians, has partnered with Bond Vet, a veterinary clinic group committed to enhancing the human-animal bond. This collaboration aims to combine VetRec’s technology with Bond Vet’s modern approach to veterinary medicine, ultimately improving pet care and the overall experience for both animals and their human caregivers.
VetRec is designed to automate the creation of clinical notes for veterinarians, specifically generating Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes. After a consultation, veterinary professionals can use VetRec to process the recorded information, allowing them to either adapt a pre-existing SOAP template or create their own. Remarkably, this process takes just 30 seconds before the notes are ready for review and can be easily integrated into practice management systems (PiMS).
The AI platform can summarize extensive patient histories, encompassing up to 1,500 pages of information, including handwritten notes and lab results. Additionally, it features a built-in AI assistant that can support users with research inquiries and various tasks.
Founded in 2019, Bond Vet operates over 55 locations nationwide, offering a range of services such as wellness exams, vaccinations, specialty surgeries, and dental cleanings. The integration of VetRec’s proprietary AI technology is expected to elevate Bond Vet’s standard of care by streamlining operations and reducing administrative burdens, allowing their staff to focus on vital aspects of veterinary treatment.
“Technology should empower veterinary professionals, not replace their expertise,” stated David De Matheu, co-founder of VetRec. He emphasized that their platform is intended to complement the skills and compassion of veterinarians, enabling practices like Bond Vet to scale their impact while maintaining top-quality care.
According to the companies, VetRec’s AI technology has already been put to good use by Bond Vet’s medical team in 8,000 clinical cases, transforming the creation of SOAP notes, discharge instructions, referring veterinarian letters, and medical record summaries.
This partnership illustrates the potential of AI to revolutionize veterinary practices, ultimately contributing to better outcomes for pets and their families.
