Swarm intelligence (SI) is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) based on the study of decentralized systems. SI systems are typically made up of a large number of simple agents that interact with each other and their environment in order to accomplish a common goal.
A group of bees working together to find nectar and pollen is an example of swarm intelligence. Each bee follows simple rules, such as moving towards the nearest source of nectar, without any centralized control or planning. Through their interactions and decentralized decision-making, the bees are able to efficiently gather resources and return to the hive.
