Whether you’re looking for the ideal summer maxi skirt, considering a new fall jacket, or gearing up for back-to-school shopping, Google’s latest shopping tools are designed to help you refine your personal style while securing great deals.
At the I/O event in May, Google introduced a virtual try-on tool as part of a limited experiment in Search Labs, allowing shoppers to upload personal photos and use AI for trying on clothes. This feature is now publicly available in the U.S., enabling users to virtually try on styles from billions of apparel items within Google’s Shopping Graph across various platforms such as Search, Google Shopping, and product results on Google Images.
To utilize the feature, simply tap on any product listing or apparel result, select the “try it on” icon, and upload a full-length photo. Within moments, you can see how you might look in those trendy gingham-print pants. The tool allows users to save their favorite looks and share them with friends.
In conjunction with the new try-on feature, Google has upgraded its price alert functionality. Starting today, U.S. shoppers can set alerts for products by selecting their desired size and color, along with the target price. The Shopping Graph compiles product information from across the web to notify users when there are offers that meet their criteria, eliminating the hassle of constantly checking prices or forgetting about items on their wishlist.
Additionally, Google plans to roll out features that allow users to explore shoppable outfit and room design inspirations this fall. The upcoming AI Mode will enable users to receive creative ideas for seasonal fashion or home decor. By leveraging vision match technology, the platform will generate visual options based on user queries, utilizing the extensive catalog of 50 billion products from the Shopping Graph.
Users can look forward to this innovative shopping experience, which promises to simplify the decision-making process and empower them to express their style more effectively.
