Ukraine has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first nation globally to launch an AI assistant specifically for government services, now accessible via the Diia portal. Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the launch on Telegram on September 1, highlighting the significance of this development in the ongoing digitalization of public services.
Fedorov emphasized that this initiative strengthens Ukraine’s position as a leader in the field of global e-governance. Currently, the AI assistant is in an open beta testing phase, allowing users to experience its functionalities as it is continuously refined.
The AI assistant is designed to streamline the interaction with various government services, making it quicker and more convenient for users. It can guide individuals through the available services, recommend the most suitable options based on specific circumstances, and provide essential personal information, such as an individual’s insurance record.
Users can access the AI assistant by logging into the Diia platform, navigating to the homepage search, and submitting their queries. Notably, one unique aspect of this assistant is the functionality that allows users to request official documents, including income certificates, simply by sending a message to the assistant.
Looking ahead, plans are in place to further enhance the AI assistant’s capabilities, including the introduction of voice interaction. This will enable users to engage with the assistant in a conversational manner, similar to interactions with other advanced AI models.
Alongside this launch, Minister Fedorov has previously introduced six new projects aimed at reshaping the way Ukrainians access government services through the Diia application, signifying a concerted effort to enhance public service delivery through technology.
